Another World War Vet has
died this day,
And it may not surprise any,
you say,
That a man who had lived his
many years,
And sailed an ocean of glass
to save so many from tears,
Should be laid in the earth,
and his spirit go forward,
To his parents, he will soon
have,
To the friends lost, he will
soon see.
To his wife, he now holds,
And to his God, he will now
rest.
And yet what he was, what he
is, still remains.
A Boy Scout leader has passed
this day,
And scores of boys will remember
the way,
That this man shared the
knowledge and skills,
To help pass them from boy to
man,
Never forgetting, nor leaving
behind a single scout.
A Father has died this day,
And his two children are
swayed,
That a man who raised them,
held them,
Who gave them all that was
his, and loved them,
Should live on so strong in
both their memories and hearts.
A Grandfather has passed this
day,
And grandchildren he
supported with uncommon charity,
Remember ways and days,
In which he showed each of
them,
That each one was family, and
a part of him.
Great-Grand Children he knew,
And on the floor he played
with each,
Once again a child, and their
spirits soared,
As he bounced each one upon
his knee.
Our friend has died today,
And a friend he is in every
way.
From each birthday, to every
wedding day,
And to welcoming each one for
extended stays,
We will miss our friend who
lived his life:
A son, a soldier, a husband,
a leader,
A father and grandfather,
And most of all, our friend.
He has died this day, this man,
this wonder,
And once again someday, we
will meet him,
As he was, as he is, as he
will forever be.
What a great tribute! Sounds like JoElla's grandfather was an amazing man.
